This is the eleven and last Annual Report for the Plant Sciences Research Programme that CAZS Natural Resources has produced under the current RNR Research Strategy.

In the Annual Report for 1995, the first of the new strategy, the promise of future impacts from the research was made. But at that time, even though the programme had already completed five years of research prior to the strategy, there were no reports of impact or benefits to poor people. Ten years later those promises have been kept and the previous year's report was able to concentrate on the impact of the programme.

Many of the successful areas of research undertaken by the PSP (e.g. client-oriented breeding, replacing rice fallows) will be continued under the new DFID research programme, Research into Use.
