GEOGRAPHIC FOCUS OF PSP ACTIVITIES

PSP has comissioned projects in Asia, Africa and South America, although the generic nature of PSP research means that the potential geographic focus is much wider than the countries in which research is undertaken. The majority of PSP projects are concentrated in Asia, particularly India, although recent PSP activities in Africa include seed priming, transgenic bananas and plantains in Uganda and marker-assisted selection for pearl millet. In addition, collaborative links with International Agricultural Research Centres (IARCs) allow the programme to link with their international dissemination networks.
